You are invited to attend a community meeting hosted by the Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) program within the Department of Family and Protection Services (DFPS), and Texas Home Visiting (THV) to discuss the PEI Strategic Plan. The meeting will be held on February 16, 2016 in Laredo. The invitation below has been sent to community stakeholders and providers who have contracts with PEI or THV. The purpose of the meeting is for PEI to discuss their 5-year strategic plan with community members and to receive feedback to inform the strategic plan. · Rio Grande Valley & South Texas Community Meeting

The goal of the Prevention and Early Intervention program is to prevent child abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, runaway youth, and truancy in the State of Texas. The FY16 PEI Business Plan was created to highlight the current work of the program, the upcoming changes, and the program operations planned for FY 2016. This report is divided into five major sections: Program Overview and Scope, Client Analysis, Program Performance, Program Operations, and Program Resources. You can now find the FY16 PEI Business Plan on the PEI main page under More Prevention Resources. Additionally, PEI created six short-term think tanks to address the important issues of the PEI five-year plan. Each Think Tank was co-chaired by an internal DFPS PEI or HHSC Texas Home Visiting staff member and an external chair. These think tanks were active between September and December 2015. You can now find the Final Think Tank reports on the TPN page. Please contact me if you or a staff member from your office plan to attend this meeting and as always don't hesitate to contact DFPS if you need additional information.
